John Westwick is the Global Head of the Respiratory Disease Area at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR).
 

Prior to joining Novartis he was Professor of Pharmacology and Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University of Bath, UK.
 

John Westwick has extensive research experience in molecular mechanisms of inflammation, especially in the regulation and expression of chemokines and cytokines and their intracellular signaling pathways. His groups have pioneered studies into the functional significance of novel ion channels in inflammatory cells. He has published over 140 original research papers and review articles.
