Diverse teams are best equipped to solve complex problems in drug discovery. Why? Because discovery occurs at the intersection of disciplines, and by applying different perspectives and problem-solving skills to challenges, particularly complex ones, better solutions can be found.

To achieve this benefit of diversity, people and teams need to be able to participate and collaborate. At NIBR, we have a number of programs that foster diverse teams and a culture of inclusion:

Fostering diversity and inclusion through science education

Part of our challenge beyond creating next-generation medicines, is to educate and inspire the next generation of scientists – building the talent pool not only for Novartis, but leaders for the entire healthcare industry. Education programs are emblematic of our commitment to our associates and the communities in which they work and live.

We were one of the first signatories to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles and the UN Global Compact.
